Pictograms are second only to math in terms of being a universal language.
Almost every project I've ever been a part of has required some kind of vector art. I have kept a running file of all my pictograms since learning Adobe Illustrator. The collection below represents a substantial portion of my collection.
I find beauty in a lot of these simply because of their ease of communication. Not to mention they save valuable space in compositions where text would add complexity. Unfortunately when designing for the lowest common denominator, some form of explanation is almost always required.
Time, feeling, function, direction, life, commerce, motion and sport are just some of the ideas represented in this collection.
